About This Blog

Because I find beauty and meaning and power in words. Because I utterly adore aesthetics. Because I seek a place to collect treasures that I find online and share inspired items of my own. Proust wrote that writing is "an exquisite thread that binds us." Mythology tells of thread as a metaphor for life, spun by the Fates, measured at birth, and then unwound over time. A fine filament that connects and binds. A unifying element. A virtual dialogue. Neither a notebook nor a sketchbook, as I'll keep my paper and ink, this is familiar sentiment in a new medium. And it is by no means a substitute for out in the world, in the moment, undocumented existence. Rather it's a small attempt to organize my life virtually and remain inspired, and a measure of time spent away from the keyboard, enjoying the unwinding of my own strand.
